UPDATE:
Ok, this morning I started on the gear linkage on my corsa. Changing the whole damned unit a) because it is harder and b) because that is what I bought. Only snag was the bolt from above the subframe that you cannot reach/ see/ undo. So, that short part of the unit stayed and I swapped over the new bush instead. All the rerst changed in about an hour. Boy what a difference!!!!! Like new. Worth the money really.
Then, both drop links. If only Omegas were this easy to do!
Then, the rear shoes and handbrake adjust. Again, why can't Omegas be this easy? Took a total of about 3 hours for all the jobs. Now I ache like hell and am about to jump in the bath for a good soak.
So, with a little money (about £120 all in) the car has been transformed into one that can be used again properly. That is until the next pupil mullers the linkage, in which case they are paying next time!
BTW. Thought I would start project car as its been stood for 4 weeks. Battery nearly flat so forget that today.
