I used to commute from Syderstone in Norfolk to New Addington near Croydon , when I was in the London Ambulance Service I think it was around 140 miles each way.. Mind I used to use a Fiat 126 !

Well after a few weeks of discussions and thinking what to do I've decided to take the transfer to Wolverhampton. It means no more commuting and shorter days which has to be a good thing surely  :y

Only downside will be no planning ahead and being posted on a spares allocation rota but in time I should get some stability with a proper duty rota.  :y

I'm probably going to regret my decision but hey ho,  ;D

Oh how I love the Bus Industry  :D  ;D

Hi Paul

Good luck with your transfer  :y

Cheers Varche  :y

As you can probably imagine SWMBO played an active part in the decision making process  ;D

Instead of travelling 11 miles each way and using the Mig, I'm now 2 miles from the depot and can walk more often etc.  :y

Just have to put up with poor working environment and being messed about for a while tho  :(  :'(

I have been known to do a tank of diesel in a shift :-X neither my 1.9 Vectra C, nor my Seat Altea XL managed better than 35mpg...

Currently doing £20 or so in petrol, more if out during the day ::)

I should add, if you use the Omega on a two mile commute, it won't use any less fuel :-\

I never see less than 45mpg av from the fuel comp in the passett.....i also have the bad habit of letting it idle between jobs in this weather to keep me warm  ::) ....tho i spose it lets the starter motor and battery have a rest  :-\

There's a staff bus that picks me up from home to take me to the garage so that should save me use of fuel over the week.  :D  ;D

Whilst my mig is off the road with a poorly auto box then every little helps........ Mig could be off the road for some time I fear  :'(
