well my 234 is going into the 9-3 but that will leave me with a 204 doing nothing (think ive got a 19t sat around somewhere aswell...)
id have to do something about the sump (would starve under acceleration in rwd setup as they don't like long right handers as it is)
I can see this being a moneypit lol

guess it all swings on how well the v6 runs when I find the fault...

If it's flat, the multi rams aren't working properly... there's a guide about them here somewhere :y

out of interest what sort of performance should I be able to see from a 3.0 manual omega?

only im only averaging 19mpg witch is pretty ridiculous for the slowest car ive ever owned... keeping up with traffic seems laborious tbh

im hoping its just not running right and some servicing love will see it right

Mid did say once i was averaging 42 on a run  :-\ Must have been driving like grandad again  :-\

been reading a few posts and a few people seem to mention this dual ram setup "at about 4k" I don't feel anything at those revs ?
the little vacuum thing on the front of the inlet moves but other than that ive no idea if it works
Not feeling anything is a good thing, shows its working.

No Dual Ram on Omega V6, but a multiram instead

symptoms are low mpg and gutless power.  Multirams wont affect them that much. As said, I would be looking at ignition efficiency (misfire, fuel delivery, etc)

Worth checking that the back box hasn't grown a tail. Quite common for the stuffing to escape and block the exhaust.

Ah yes, that had escaped me.  But a possibility.  It doesn't always show as it can collapse internally and block the exhaust (creating high exhaust pressure and thus affecting combustion)

As a guide, here are the things to check (in order of ease):

- exhaust blockage (have a look inside with a torch or put hand over the exhaust outlet.  At idle, when the engine is cold you should feel a distinct yet slight and regular pop in the exhaust gas. if you know someone with known good v6 miggy you can compare the 2)
- check multirams are working (both at the front trumpet and the rear of the plenum, many require scuttle to be removed)
- Check plug wells for oil/water
- change fuel filter if not fairly new/unknown age
- Check/replace HT leads (with a decent multimeter you can check the resistance)
- Check/replace plugs (check for pitting/damage/wear)
- check/replace DIS pack

If you are unable to do any of these I am sure there is someone nearby that can help :y

As an idea why don't you test the performance if you're unclear on it's speed. Do a 0-60 test.... if way off the time then you got a problem. If just off do a service and repeat. If bang on... no problem  :y

What do you guys think to that test?

Unscientifically (with a stopwatch), my 3.0l auto manages 0-60 (on speedo) in 7.3s. Given the nature of stopwatches and speedos, I suspect thats a reality of somewhere between 7-8s. I'd expect a manual to easily shave a good 0.5s from that, maybe more.

I'll have to borrow some equipment one day....

my old 3.0 manual would take on ep3 civic type r's and easily put a standard one in it's place.
