Four-door coupe ?
« on: 27 December 2013, 15:50:07 »

Peugeot 408 GT , I'm feeling a bit puzzled as the main speciality of all the coupes is the two-doors form... GT got four doors, is it still coupe though... ???

You're right of course .... a coupé is a two door car, but obviously those that name cars don't know that. One of the more notable 'coupés' of the past was the Rover P5 Coupé  ..... which was also a 4 door  ;)

This one? Not cheap, but it seems to be the going price for a good one. And this one is even a nice colour inside, better than the ubiquitous tan that seems to be in many. Strange seeing a Coupe without the grey roof .... though it's probably due to the Webasto sun roof.
Did you know that the coachline on roof of the coupe was done by hand at the factory?  :o

No this one

 :y

Although it's a P5, it's 'only' a saloon ...... not a coupé  ;)  ;)  They're both easily identified from each other, the saloon has a triangular-ish quarter light while the coupe has a parallelogram quarter light  ;) ;) ;) That makes mine top trump yours!  ;D ;D ;D ;D

So it's a coupé because she has a parallelogram quarter light... hm...is it new generation of car identifying?  ;D

No  ;), the roof line at the back is lower on the coupe than the saloon, but unless the two cars are next to one another, the difference isn't that obvious. The quarter light is the most easily identified difference. :y  :y

saloon

Some of them were two tone paited from the factory, an option, back then, so not a new idea Mr Citreon DS etc. My mate used to banger race them all the time as the front was so hard. Could be a bit tender on the rear. he finesed second in the world banger final DD at Wimbeldon back in 1983
