Blower and "hedgehog" controller up behind glove box.  Check blower working by applying 12V direct - if it is, most probably the controller gone.

Maybe a dumb question to some, but how would I get to apply 12v direct to the blower?  Just run a wire straight from the battery.  ??? ???

Just bypass controller, or wire direct from battery as you said, or from spare battery or 12v power pack ;)

Ok, still not having any joy.

Glove box out and can see the connector on the side of the blower motor directly below, what I think is the hedgehog??

Do I just run a single live wire to the red wire on the plug of the blower motor?

TIA :y

Easier to pop the hedgehog out. Then bridge the two large connectors and if the fan doesn`t spin it`s donald

I've seen the guide to getting the blower motor out, but how do I get the controller out please?

I've gone as far as removing the glovebox and able to view the blower motor plug and I assume the controller above it??

TIA :y

Follow cables from motor, that will lead to speed controller, which is installed in the ducting

Hedgehog is top right of blower motor as you look at it.  Its just clipped in - careful not to break the plastic lugs though (not an issue if its nackered ;)) - replacement just clips in :y

Dont break off the plastic clips in the ducting  when removing hedgehog, as I did, or you are lost.I would eliminate everything else befor taking out hedgehog.

I'm following advice from RobG and removing the hedgehog to bridge the 2 large connectors to see if the blower spins.

Having a bloody nightmare with this bloody thing.  >:(

Just been out to the car again for 2mins (Skiving out of the office) and had another look in the foot well.

Pulled a plug off the back of the hedgehog which then runs down a short distance to the motor, although there appears to be another small plug going into the hedgehog?

Do I apply 12v to the red wire on the large block I have just pulled out of the hedgehog?  ???

Finally made some progress, yep the light bulb finally came on ;D ;D

After unplugging the 2 blade wires, brown & red off the controller, I used a set of jump leads from the battery to the leads. As soon as I connected them the blower kicked in at high speed.

That then identifies that the controller is kaput. Going to see if I can remove the current controller ready for a replacement  ::)

Thanks all for your guidance and patience so far guys n girls :y

Carefully, or you`ll snap one or both of the retaining clips

Rob, the retaining clips, do they push apart from the controller or do you push inwards and withdraw?

I've only removed the glovebox and nothing else so far, as didn't want to strip the airbag and wiring out unless I needed to, so it's a bit tight to see how it is clipped in. :-X
