My dad who is 89 next month turned up at my place Boxing day with a 58 plate 2.7 weezel with 30k on the clock and shock horror he paid 16 grand for it,that's a big chunk of change out of my inheritance, and in all honesty it's going to get minimal use....and his health is failing so I'm confused or is it him ::)

The cheapest XF's are around the £8,000 mark now. They're all very well equipped, and a good drive!

Still waiting for news of a 24 hour test drive. :'(

I've now stopped holding my breath. :'(

They will have checked you out after you filled the forms in and found out you are only a 2 bob millionaire so they moved you to the bottom of the waiting list.    :y :y :y :y

Quite honestly the classiest and nicest to drive car that we had at Enterprise Rent A Car in the 3 yrs I was there. A lot of the time we would have a car park with a jag, rangie, BMW 530d and a Toureg in, and it was always the Jag that was taken as the chase car, although if the area manager was around then it would have been the Kia Picanto or Hyundai I10!!!

But the way the vents spun around, the gear selector rose out the dashboard and the speed of the paddle shift gearchange when you was getting a move on, wow, what a car!! (Don't forget to hold the chequered flag button down for about 6 seconds to get to proper sports mode with the red dials and even quicker gear change and throttle response!)

Now if the Sportbrakes would just drop to the same kind of price range.. ;D

A fella at work has had an XF (3 litre diesel) since new and covered 50k uneventful miles (besides his rear numberplate repeatedly coming unstuck) and, if I remember rightly, made it to the middle of Germany and back on a single tank of fuel. They're impressive cars all round and lovely inside..
