Looking for anyone who has done this themselves, from what I can see some people just slap the paint down, others seal it first.

I want it to last, so going to seal it first. Now that appears to be just a PVA glue mix?

Stupid question time, we are talking about something like this:

Which is then mixed with water, to 50/50? - Some of the guides I've read, say it's like painting with milk!

So once sealed, onto the paint, this stuff gets shite reviews:

Depends how good the concrete is. If its constantly dusty I'd seal.

Just painted mine though. Although its carpeted as well, partly.

It will wear though, eventually.

Don't remember seeing a lot of dust on the viewing, but for the minimal cost, might as well seal it.

Understand it will wear, but want to give it the best chance

You are better off sealing and stabilizing it with PVA as said 50/50 is good get a named brand as some of the cheaper ones are already thin  let it dry then apply paint.  done this to several garages and worshops and it has stayed put.

Have found all the Leyland paints to be excellent, tunnie lad.

That price is about right too, though obviously make sure that your suppliers have enough of your chosen colour in stock, as I think that the quoted coverage guide's a bit on the 'generous' side.

PVA on the floor surface first - personally, I'd go for a 75% PVA/25% water mix.
Empty the PVA into a bucket, add/mix the water and go for it with a large brush. When finished, wash-out the brush with water and use same for the paint when the floor's dried-out.

I sealed mine then painted it. That was a couple of years ago and then you could get proper solvent based concrete sealer. I couldn't pour enough sealer on to my floor it just kept soaking it up. I think if I had put thick floor paint on it then it wouldn't had adhered properly without sealing the floor first.

Anyway 2 or 3 years later it's lasted pretty well but is starting to look a little shabby. I'll do it again in the summer (so it dries faster). I used the screwfix paint and it was fine.

Confirmed my plan of attack, I was leaning to Leyland paint anyway, but to hear first hand it's good is a great relief.

Looking forward to attacking this, will post up some photos in around a month or so when I shall be attacking this

Go to local diy shed and buy some tins of gloss that have been reduced. Brush floor, seal with a pva seal mix,then use cheap gloss paint

 Take the manufactures coverage estimates with a VERY big pinch of salt ! always seal the concrete with a good PVA mix , if it's new concrete do a 25% pva to water mix let it dry and then do a 50/50 mix , if you can , try and hoover the floor before painting it , nothing worse than ending up with grit in the paint  , if you have a lot of paint it might be worth while to give the floor a primer coat of a thin paint/turps mix , I did with mine and it gave a very good base for the top coat , also remember some of these paints give off a very strong smell so make sure the garage is well ventilated . as has been mentioned it might be worth trying to paint it in the summer months as the warmth will dry it out quicker .

My 'tandem double garage' has an up & over door at the front & a pedestrian door at the rear. I set off painting mine at the back at painted towards the big up & over. When I'd almost finished I tried to open the up & over from the inside to find that SMBO had since returned & parked right up to the door ...... the door wouldn't open &  couldn't get out unless I walked over my nice newly painted door!!  No phone in pocket .... hadn't quite been invented yet & she couldn't hear me shouting. I could just about reach the fuse box so switched the lights on & off till she came looking to see WTF I was playing at! 

When I did mine (I read the instructions afterwards & I should have let the paint down 50/50 with thinners for the first coat  )
