Service Parts
« on: 24 January 2014, 13:19:15 »

It's been quite a while since I bought anything on T/C recently, are they still giving same discounts they used to? As they've closed T/C at the Dealer I used to go to, i've no idea how much they are now.  :-[

Looking to pop new Air filter, pollen filter and plugs in the 2.2?

I'd have to ask people to get parts for me now, with a trip back home to collect them :(

Weighing option up of that, or eurocarparts were it's easily delivered  :)

If you cant get TC at Vx why don't you use your Halfords card? (I am right in thinking you have one?)

I pay the extra and get it from acmecarparts ltd, then use those mongrels.

There must be a TC dealer not far from you?

Eurocarparts are often cheaper, also free delivery so don't have to go anywhere to get things  :y

So have I so far, considering using them for nearly everything now. Had everything from screenwash to brake shoes all delivered in double quick time (next day often!) for free.

I think the one in Camberley is, also Bracknell, but, I would go so rarely I think it would always be a blag each time. Last place the T/C card got hammered, it also was not mine  ::)

Not tried the Aldershot main stealer for trade club since it all got shaken up.

I've been going to Camberley auto factors recently. Might be handy given your relocation?

They have a kind of "trade card". IIRC, you pay a quid or two for it then get discount when you present it. Paid for itself in the first visit. They have huge stock, so most things off the shelf. All their stuff is from reasonable quality pattern manufacturers IME.

Slough Burnham garage, 2 mins from m4 jcn 6 ?

Much easier to get to than Bracknell if your heading home to Brackley one day?

I can't use them meself these days as my hours are outside their opening times. Plus they tend not to have stock so order in.

Why do vx only ever have 3 cam cover o rings on the shelf?

When I get mine home, I'll be signing up to ABS and getting a trade card... although the lovely girl in Halfords gives me trade discount anyway... ;)

Really, really stupid question, from someone who was a mechanic in a past life (!) - will they not deliver to you/ a neighbour, or do they only deliver to people with trade accounts/ a premises/ more than ten quids worth of Omega on the drive?

Hard enough getting one before, I would be getting so little, I doubt they would keep the account open.

See your point, but I suspect the times I travel, the dealer would be shut. Normally travel late night
