Haggis and 80/- Tonight.
« on: 24 January 2014, 19:01:19 »

Just committed myself to a night down the Local Wetherknives Pub with some mates for some Haggis and Beer, apparently there knocking out Caledonian 80/- Ale for £1.99 so hopefully more Beer than Haggis.  :y

Now, whilst I dont have a problem with the Beer, would be nice to know whats in the Haggis?

Sensible answers only please.  ::)

Wild or farmed?

No idea, they brew it in Vats apparently before sticking it in smaller Barrels.

Haggis is a savoury pudding containing sheep's pluck (heart, liver and lungs); minced with onion, oatmeal, suet, spices, and salt, mixed with stock, and traditionally encased in the animal's stomach and simmered for approximately three hours. Most modern commercial haggis is prepared in a sausage casing rather than an actual stomach.

Yours will of course have all sorts of offal things in it.

Still better than eating a kebab.............

Is it too early the next day to ask "Did you enjoy the haggis and have a good evening?"  ;D

Yep excellent Haggis, and a good night out, Chef who sometime has a Beer with us, wacked a fried egg on top of the Haggis, not sure if that a Scottish thing but really tasty.  ;)

Haggis, neeps & tatties and a Pint of Real Ale for £4.99 cant moan at that, thats not to say we only had one Beer of course.  :y
