I say sir, isn't that a case of Frud, by saying that. :)

Not at all.

But if he had purchased under that pretence, yes.  He did not. Merely a quote. Nothing wrong with that at all.

Nope, he might be finding out how much his insurance would change if made redundant/changing job/changing car/or any other change of circumstance.

Where is the law that says a policeman or anyone else can't get a quote on a potential change of circumstances?
That's what quoting is for. It might be open to abuse if people lie and purchase based on that lie, and it might also reveal some ridiculous price changes based on those changes in circumstances.

But what BG appears to be suggesting is a Copper can't quote on a change in circumstances, either current or future.

I guess the excuse will be, they have some statistic that says the unemployed are more likely to claim.

Where as a housewife is not. I wonder is there a househusband option?

Kevin is right about them being scam artists...example. just got my renewal for a 3.2 with Privilege insurance, last year was £225 and this year £319, so I called them and asked them how come the big increase? All I got was a load of b******t!! about last year was an introductory premium blah! blah! ::) ::) so I reminded them that I have four cars on risk with them and a platinum house insurance policy, and bosh £229 was the result :-\
I did say that if they try that again on any other of the renewals, then I'll be taking some other companies introductory offers and cutting Privilege loose pretty quick as there are so many good deals out there.:-\

Heard on the radio today that insurance companies are saying that most peoples premiums will come down by £40 at next renewal as due to crackdowns on whiplash claims and costs of legal fees they've saved some money and will pass these savings on to customers.Should prove interesting in the coming months!!

Not in my experience they're not! My renewal has just arrived on the mat to tell me they want an EXTRA £51 this year, no wonder the dog chewed it before it hit the ground! :D ;D

I heard that too, also thought that it is now recognised that we all shop around each year and they say that cheaper and cheaper quotes are not sustainable; I have not paid an increase, on like for like, for some years........ ;) ;)
