Cambelt replacement cost
« on: 27 January 2014, 14:18:39 »

Hi All. My cambelt is overdue  :-[ and yesterday a squeaking noise started from behind the cambelt cover which I guess is either a pulley or the waterpump?  :(  :-\

As I havn't got a cam locking kit and I'm not local to any of the OOfers that do this sort of thing, I'm going to get a quote from a couple of the local garages and I'm wondering what a reasonable charge is?  :-\

TIA  :y

Mmmm Ice cream!

In all seriousness I just worry about independent garages a) not having the kit and b) not having a clue how to use it!

Pm me a postcode and I'll sort out a quote for travel etc :y

James, are you too far away from Witham, Essex to consider coming to me?
I need cambelt and thermostat as well, and from what I have recently learned on here, breathers cleared too as my cam covers (?) are weeping a little.
My pension isn't elastic enough to stretch to a main dealer, who WILL have the proper kit and expertise, so someone recommended by Oofers would be great!

Ron.
