Lone Ranger Vs. Jessica
« on: 05 June 2008, 20:15:20 »

It was once observed that a 'cultured' person was one whom might listen to the William Tell Overture (Gioachino Antonio Rossini) and not think of the Lone Ranger on Tv.......
Perhaps, there are some of you that might similarly listen to the Allman Brothers` 'Jessica' and not think about another Tv. show! ;D

I must be very cultured - like a pot of yoghurt past its sell-by date.

First I thought it was the Top Gear theme.  The I thought it was the music from the Sonic the Hedgehog game one of the kids used to have.  Then I scrolled down and saw the reference to snooker.  Then the battery in my hearing aid gave out.

It was Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata, wasn't it?

Heh. Given Clarkson and Co's reflex anti-Americanism (the main thing I find tedious about them) that's fairly top irony.

That was great, Debs! Thanks for posting.

I think it's interesting to note that, at that time, it was de rigeur to have oversize shades and a zapata moustache if you wanted to "pull the chicks".

These days, wearing oversize shades and a zapata moustache may suggest that your desires are somewhat different...

(you can thank the Village People, for that!  ;D ;D)
