OE03 EWW 3.2 petrol manual saloon
Reassembling after clutch change. I have dropped and lost the clip that retains the clutch pipe from master cylinder. Is it a Vx spare part? Will anything else do the job?

Use airline crimps, don't know there proper name,do them up with a pair of pinchers, crimp each side.

Sounds hopeful, but I do not know what you mean. Are they like paper clips?

Still not found it. Wife offered to help this morning, but she could not find it either. On reflection, all it does it locate the pipe in the hole, and allow easy assembly (but not easy dissembly). Tomorrow I shall see if Vx sell them, otherwise I reckon any wire of the right diameter would do the job; it would be more difficult to assemble, not a pop in job.

an R clip would do the same job? easy to get them

All's well that ends well. Vx do sell them, part no.90512780, 94p each inc. VAT As other thread, I did get one into the slot, tried to insert pipe but could not. So removed clip and dropped that one too. Still could not insert pipe.

Al thinks pipe is is in wrong place; I think he is right. I had it below the bottom heater pipe, with the pipe coming vertically up. I shall try it next above lower pipe with pipe coming horizontally towards master cylinder.

Don't know if this picture helps. You might need to zoom in a bit to see it.

The metal pipe from the master cylinder is lurking between the heater hoses. The flexible pipe is still attached to the gearbox.

Your missing clips are probably down the back of the heatshield.

IIRC the two parts go together quite easily, fitting the clip after is the awkward bit because it won't go in if the two parts aren't completely together

i droped mine and just took a clip kind of the same shape of a deisle engine nd just bent it abit, done the job the very best untill i got another one, but would work long term to i done the same to my mates 2.5v6 wen he droped hid clip and its been in for 3 years

Thanks gentlemen, I manoeuvred the pipe in above the lower heater pipe, then discovered an old mounting bracket for the pipe. I inserted the clip first, then tried to 'ease' (Haynes) h the pipe in. It was hard to get a hand in there at all, let alone ease the pipe in. Eventually I pushed it half way in by hand, then pushed it the rest of the way in with a long screwdriver, where it engaged with a satisfying click.

I reverse bled the clutch with a method I have used for years. I attached a long plastic pipe to the bleed nipple, fitted a funnel to the other end of the pipe, hung the funnel from a beam in the garage and poured brake fluid into the funnel. Gravity did the rest. The level rose in the reservoir, job done.
