ABS ECU
« on: 02 February 2014, 15:36:29 »

Can anyone help me identify the part I'm looking for? I need an ABS ECU for my 2000 3.0 Auto.

I found this on Ebay.

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=331120519887&ssPageName=ADME:X:RTQ:GB:1123

Looking at the picture, is the ECU present?

Thanks so much. :y

This is an Abs pump that has been removed from my 1996 Manual Vauxhall Omega 3.0 ltr V6 Petrol Elite. It is a Bosch pump and is numbered 0265303002.

Is this the same number as yours?

I see his is a manual and yours is an auto, I don't know if this makes a difference, I will have a look around and see if I can find out

What year is yours, as that say 1996. Pre 1998 ECUs are reliable, but incompatible with later cars.

Kate.

It would be worth your while, and save you alot of grief,if you can either remove the faulty abs unit,or get somebody else to do so.Then send it off for a refurb at say BBA Remain in Rochester as they will do a full refurb on it and give it a warranty.Allyou thyen need to do is refit it and it will be sorted.

IMHO I think that would be a safer option and alot quicker. It should cost sub £130 and obviously a few £,s to have it removed/refited if you don,t fancy the job.I would happily pick the old unit up from you as in Caterham Tuesday evening and could drop it off at BBA Wednesday morning as I live just round the corner from them .They refurbished mine on my old 98.2.5 several years ago and I know others have used them to.

Pm if you need any help, but I did struggle removing mine so its not a job I would be looking to take on again

Thanks very much, that's very kind of you. :y

Getting the part off is the problem as I'm almost useless my self and there's no-one near to help.

What would be useful to know is whether the car is still usable with the ABS ECU removed? If so, I could take it somewhere to get removed.

I'll be in touch if I can get the little bugger out of the car! :y

Thanks again. :y

Car can be driven without it :y after all you all ready have no speedo or abs ::)

Be sure that whoever removes it covers the abs unit with a bag to keep the water off until you get it back :y
