front left steering
« on: 02 February 2014, 22:32:01 »

Evening everyone ive put knew wishbones on my 2.6 v6 today with new track rod ends, not taking it for tracking today as they couldn't squeeze me in, ive done them so the steering wheel is straight and it drives in a straight line, how ever when I turn the car right the front left tyre sort of scaps across the road with the outer bit of tyre, instead of nice smooth turning. Any ideas plz was thinking about the steering idler would that course it many thanks all.

"tracking" is a pointless waste of time, especially after a wishbone change....  you need a full geometry check / setup, with special emphasis on CAMBER, which will have changed with new wishbones. It is the CAMBER that will wreck your tyres PDQ

Geometry has gone to shite after the wishbone change... don't drive it very far until it's been to WIM :y

Tracking will achieve little more than making your wallet emptier...

What torque settings did you use/how did you tighten the wishbone bolts...?

With the car parked steering straight do the outside edge of the front wheels look like they line up with the outside edge of the rears? You may well need to squat down to see.
