Getting to the bulb was pretty straightforward. Battery out, rubber cap off, plastic cover off after removing 3 screws, ignitor plug off.

Tried pulling and twisting bulb lightly to see what gives But don't want to be more brutal in case I break something.

How do you get the bulb out?

Twist the black metal circular holder and bulb will come out

I tried that, gingerly though. Can you remember which way it twists? I don't want to force it the wrong way and break it.

Why did you take the battery out  lot easier to take unit out from front and then you have loads of clearance 5 minutes a side when I have taken mine out, be careful not to break the adjusters

Was easy enough taking battery out. Never removed the lamp units before.

Only 1 plastic rivet, 1 trim piece and 3 8mm bolts per side

I gave removing the units a go. Got the top two bots and trim panel off easy enough, but could not locate the third bolt.

Changed the D2S bulbs anyway. Cheap ones from Ebay, 5000k, look great. But annoyingly poor cold strike success. Will be putting originals back and save up for the new Osram Nightbreaker unimited D2S. I have them in the main beam and they are awesome.
