Another loony decision by the government
« on: 06 June 2008, 19:37:23 »

Britain is to be left out of Europe’s high-speed rail revolution because the Government has decided that 200mph trains are bad for the environment.

Pillocks!  >:(

the fact that the government is bankrupt (financially/morally/intellectually/philosophically)may have something to do with it.  ;)

So why are we expanding airports? surly a plane does more damage to the environment per person transported that any train would. :)

They've got a "Labour" government there too. Only think is that, over there, you can't criticise it:  ::)

"The Labour Government – with the support of the Greens and New Zealand First - passed the Electoral Finance Act just before Christmas. The Act effectively prevents the public from criticising the government during the whole of election year. They have achieved this by firstly forcing anyone who wants to campaign against the government to register with the state and subject themselves to audits, and secondly, by intimidating those who breach the Act (and its precise meaning is far from clear) with hefty fines or imprisonment."

See http://www.nzcpr.com/weekly119.htm

You can't get away from the lefties...they're everywhere.  :(
