Sorry, the pic is too big I know.
I went outside, started the car and left back to take something out of the house just to find my side airbag gone off  :o No airbag light on the dash, everything works...it's nice to see it works but...I can't help stearing into the steering wheel now too see when it explodes  ::) Do I need a side airbag alone or with the sensor inside the door too?

Did you slam the door shut?

Is the waterproof membrane inside the door still intact?

If the answer to the second question is No/Don't know then that is the probable cause :y I wouldn't be too worried about the steering wheel one... the side airbags are only triggered by the air pressure switches in the doors, ideally when summat stoves the door in ::)

Basically a dent takes up space, increasing the air pressure in the door. The switch senses this and sends a signal to pop that airbag. Slaming the door without a membrane fitted correctly can have the same pressure effect, which is the most likely cause :y

A new airbag should be all you need, but check inside the door, and make sure the pressure sensor is clean/dry whilst your at it :y

.

I just leaned the door, it didn't even close...
Well if it's just a new airbag I'll survive..
Does it need a Tech II ?

If the light isn't on, then the system hasn't detected a fault, assuming the bulb is present of course...

Be sure to disconnect the battery for an hour before unplugging the airbag wiring :y

I wonder why it went off :-\

If you didn't slam the door but it went off when the door was being closed I would be inclined to have a good look at the flexible wiring between the door and the door pillar.  :-\

Good one  ???
Especially because I had all doors replaced 2 years ago due to rust and had to swap the wirings because of diferrent connectors

You'll probably need a new ECU as well. As the ECUs can only be configured once, it has to be one with exactly the say airbag configuration as yours, including passenger seat occupancy sensor, and disable transponders.
