Engine Management Light
« on: 24 February 2014, 15:54:01 »

Hi guys,

Finally sorted out the Knock sensor issues which also turned out to be split rubber joiners on the Vacuum tubing,

I got the code reader out to clear the faults and it drove lovely got it up to frowned upon speeds and the EML came back on i knew straight away it wasnt the knock sensor as it put the engine check light on as this went straight to EML

I took it back to my unit plugged in on the KTS and it is showing

P0170 - Fuel Correction (Bank 1) Malfunction
P0173 - Fuel Correction (Bank 2) Malfunction

Now i know the car was stood a while before my ownership so could it be just a crudded fuel filter or something more serious

Once i reset the light again ive done about 40 miles at various different speeds and it hasnt reappeared as of yet

Check what the long term fuel trims are reading. If not 0%, you have a problem

Find out what they are first. Unlikely to be fuel pump.

Might be worth changing fuel filter anyway if its been standing for a while.
