Jcn 10 Reading/Winnersh/Reading 329m chrisgixer' house

Jcn 11 Reading/Basingstoke a33 windmill and Madejski stadium

Jcn 12 Reading/Thatcham/Newbury A4 ....IKEA

So the Swindon side of Reading

Way too close for my liking. WAY too close.

Thinking about it, I heard they're also building one in Exeter which is a bit too close for comfort!  :o  :(

So in other words you will be swapping some of your time to spend it in a Swedish bit of Reading instead of the Reading bit of Reading.  ::) ::) ::) ::)

It could have a certain admin jealous where he loves all things Swedish.  ::) ::) ::) ::)

These Ikea places are a disgrace - Council taking backhanders obviously - they really impose on the skyline but no one gives a toss and lets them get away with it. No idea why people shop there for pretentious crap. I might concede some areas for kids/spare bedrooms but generally no use to me whatsoever as I prefer simplistic uncluttered rooms apart from where I keep my books!!

Nevertheless, their external appearance doesn't even begin to rival the horrors within. <shudder>

A favourite song has to be "I fear Ikea" by the Lancashire Hotpots. They do another one about'" the Girl from Bargain Booze"

So, seeing as you are between J10 and J11, and both are signposted as Reading, remind me where you live? :P

I'm OK with Ikea. Mrs TB knows they sell nothing but tat, so rarely wants to go in...  ...and when she does, she knows where it is so I can stay away

Ikea has it's place, budget was low when I bought my London flat.

I had to purchase a very expensive £19 table, to be used as my main dinning table. It was naked pine wood, needed a couple of coats of clear varnish, but still going strong. For the money, can't complain. Big bowls and plates too, uber cheap, what more do you need from a plate?

Some of their stuff is tat, some is stupidly expensive, but their middle of the road stuff is ok.

Their lights are not too bad either, £5 for tower lamp, can't say no to that.
