Timing Belt Kits
« on: 25 February 2014, 21:53:02 »

Hi all.

My timing belt kit needs doing but I'm on a very tight budget due to unemployment.

What the cheapest I'd be able to buy one for? I know you have to buy good quality but what's the cheapest I could get one for?

Many thanks. :y

Gates, dayco are good, what i do is find out what the part number is and then find the best price on the net, normally ebay turns out to be the cheapest option.

you have a V6 ....... the water pump is 'fan belt' driven, so if it aint broke - don't fix it.  ;)

Try these - http://www.buypartsby.co.uk/details/VAUXHALL/OMEGA/3.0/2000/__/54/CT884K1/timing-belt-kit/ - its a Contitech (OEM supplier) - I've used a few of these kits now - all good no problems

I've just bought a Contitech one from BuyPartsBy for £94 delivered, if memory serves.

This might be a possibility on a budget:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/AC-Delco-Timing-belt-kit-Vauxhall-Vectra-Calibra-Cavalier-2-5-Omega-2-5-2-6-3-0-/200878032761?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&fits=Car+Make%3AVauxhall|Cars+Type%3A2.5+V6&hash=item2ec5438779

I can't see the bottom idler pulley in the picture so might be worth enquiring to ensure it's included.
