We can have a straight laced forum, where no banter is allowed (as all banter, by its nature, has the potential to offend somebody who doesn't take it in the way intended). But any fun will be immediately stamped out by the mods.

We can have an "anything goes" (original members, think "The Shed"), where offending people is the norm.

Or we can strike a middle ground.


My preference is for the latter. The former 2 would be enough to see me off I reckon, and I guess I wouldn't be alone...

Gen chat was in danger of becoming VERY "straight laced" only a few months ago.

Luckily it pulled back from that particular brink and IMO is much more fun place to be. Hopefully the majority agree. Re this thread, If anybody is offended then my sincere and unreserved apologies. But really I do feel if that's the case, that some lightening up is in order. Both in what's taken and what's given out. :)
