F1 Constructs and Winner predictions
« on: 02 March 2014, 16:17:13 »

Testing is over, so on to Australia. I wonder how many cars will finish the first race  ??? ::)
So who do you predict for the World Champion, and Constructor Winners.   ???

I will go for Hamilton, Massa and Alonso.
Mercedes, Williams and Ferrari.

You can never rule out the genius that is Adrian Newey to affect the second half of the season.

Too early to say. Red bull nowhere currently. I can't see that situation lasting though.

It's nice to see Williams back at the top, well looks like it anyway. Be really good to see them winning again, even if it was with Massa  :)

Mercedes and their drivers Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg remain the favourites for both the first race of the season and the Championship after a largely impressive performance over the 12 days of testing in Spain and Bahrain.

Mercedes, Williams and Red Bull.

Rosberg, Hamilton, Massa, Vettel will be the top performing drivers. Red Bull will get off to a slow start to the season but will dominate again from about five races in where they fix the reliability issues and Adrian Newey's genius will make it business as usual.

Ferrari, Force India and Mclaren will be close also rans.

The challenge for all teams is going to be reliability, so many hares will fall to the wayside to let some tortoises win.

Williams seemed to be by far the most reliable in testing, so I expect them to finish in Australia, all the other teams might not.

If the season goes as testing predicts then Bernie's double points for the final race might just ironically put Red Bull and Vetell into another Championship win.
As I said in my original post Adrian Newey's genius can't be ruled out, especially in the second half of the season.
I think that this is going to be a either a good year or a disaster for the sport with the new regulations. Personally I think it is a step too far and would prefer normally aspirated straight 3 litre engines and manual gearbox with no driver aids whatsoever. That was racing, man and machine may the best man win not the technology

What are the odds on a Renault powered car actually completing a race?
