Removed today from an 3.0 ex plod with 60k on the clock and on the service print out.

4 x 3.0 Cams each Cam is marked as follows, GC11, GC19, GC20 and GC22.

I was the second owner from the Met DPG Unit (SO16) and the car was extremly quick, dexpite being an Auto.

Price: £100 collected or I can Courier at cost.

Hi Paul, if your refering to your TVP 3.2, then no idea, if you mean do all 3.0 Plods have G + G Cams then no, not all do.

In fact Im fairly sure that the 3.2's had a different Cam setup to the 3.0's but could be wrong.

Maybe someone could confifm either way, or I can post a question in Mig Help.

Yes mate - referring to my 3.2, be a good upgrade to do if I can but need to see if it's worth while to do.

I'm probably going to get a slap on the wrist for turning this for sale thread into a discussion but would there be the benefits of me fitting the G cams in replace of the Js?

Iirc, the "J" cams are somewhere between the G and the A in profile 

I believe the "G" cam has the highest lift of all the VX cams on the shelf which will fit the 6 pot

Im no Cam expert, but my understanding is that fitting 4 x G Cams on the 3.0's made the Cam set up more aggressive.

I've also heard that the J Cams were a milder option over the A's and J's were fitted to the 3.2's in line with its required improvement of Emissions and the Cats for that range.

According to a well known Veccy Site (not sure if Im allowed to post links to other Forums) the Veccy 3.2 with G and J Cams gives better low down Torque. When the 3.2 is fitted with G + G Cams gives slightly less lower Torque but gives better Top End BHP.

Yup, that's what Daz said to me last year when I asked him 
I can see it involving a bit more gear stick stirring with a manual but I would have thought the auto would mask any movement in the torque band and the car would just feel a bit quicker

Just to keep the thread back on track, I originally posted these Cams for 2.5 V6 (and potentially 2.6) Owners, as these Cams will give best upgrade in power, giving an immediate power increase of up to 20 BHP on those lumps.

You are free of course, to play around with these Cams on your 3.0 or 3.2's with or without any remapping consideration, but will be up to you, to do the research or homework as to potential results or benefits.
