GENUINE GM 10W40 SEMI SYNTHETIC GENERAL MOTORS CAR ENGINE MOTOR OIL 1040 5L

Sorry the link wouldn't work you'll need to copy and paste

Is the eBay seller ID babz ? Bought x2 from them recently and been using GM oil from eBay for years and all's been well.

I have brought from her before on several occasions and all was great but I have only brought Duracell batteries from her, so not sure about the oil,  :-\ the batteries were deffinately genuine. hth.

Don't know if it's any use in the V6 but the 2.2 petrol seems to like Shell Helix HX7 (at least mine does anyway) ... Usually goes for around £19.99 per 5L, that is unless you can get it trade !

As opinions on engine oil are almost entirely subjective, any 10w40 semi-synthetic that you can buy at a price you're happy with. If anyone has ever had their used engine oil analysed, I would be interested in the results, and would be prepared to change the above opinion.

Well that's good news I thought I'd have to buy an expensive brand. :y

If you change it often enough, it matters little TBH.  I'd avoid Castrol Magnatec in the V6, due to excessive moisture absorbsion, otherwise, you pays yer money...

Should be 10W40 semi synth or better, and meet API A3/B3 or better.

When i had a Beetle I used to use Asda own brand oil. It was £3 for 5 litres I think.

I use to change it every 250,000 miles though! ;D
