Result for my 16 year old step son.
« on: 10 June 2008, 23:13:45 »

Have had to get a guy in to so some heavy work in the garden, a need not a want, anyway a local bloke we got chatting over coffee. Seems he is looking for someone to help him out through the summer. Oh I said, I happen to have a 16 year old step son who is just finishing his exams and is looking for some work before starting college, he now has a new scooter to run. ;D

Walked into house and shouted for him, put some shoes on you have got an interview,  long story short he starts on a trial both ways on Monday.  :y

Now wait for this bit....................................Monday to Friday 9 – 5, i had hoped to get him around 2.50 an hour... some talk and an agreement reached..£40.00 per day, that’s £200.00 per week cash in hand, he (I) can’t believe it, what a result, this is a lad who is happy with a tenner a week when he needs it. Told him that most of it has to go into a bank ready for a car next year.
Result ;D

Did that too, he is going back t college so can't really. He is a good lad, no bother at all, does anything asked of him without any hassel.
His elder brother, been more trouble than any family should put up with, got the sack from his Job, no money coming in, no board etc etc, sleeps till lunch time. says he is looking for work on the internet, should be tramping the streets looking imho.  don't go there I know, believe me I know, his mother is just as peed off but she is his mother. He could have had this Job, but there was no way I was going to reccomend him and I told swmbo that, the guy has a daughter who is 7 and in the same class as mine, I don't want some stroppy scroat messing things up for any of us. He neds a propper Job, and should be skint now so that might encourage him, particularly when his little brother will have more money that he knows what to do with, he has been told not to loan his brother any money as well. :)

Good result  :y :y :y

Recently had to have a small "heart-to-heart" with daughter whilst SWTSMBO  was at work  ... daughter has now been home a year since finishing Uni and done sweet F A .....

A few home truths spelled out - in the absence of the "she'll sort something out in time" inputs from SWTSMBO - and daughter now starts work in a clothes shop on monday  .. :)

Not what she wanted, or is qualified for.... but my attitude is work at anything whilst looking for your dream job .. :)

Very true, and may also give her the incentive to go get the job she really wants.
