How does the Vectra V6 3.2 work?
« on: 22 March 2014, 05:59:12 »

Last Sunday I bought a 2.5 Omega estate that vendor had replaced with a 3.2 Vectra. He showed the the Vectra engine. It sits transverse, has no dual rams, strange semicircular steel pipes either side of the head, and (stepping?) motors at the ends of both heads. Does it have variable valve timing?

it does have dual ram - the pipes just look different, that's all

there isn't space for the longest ram pipes, which is why it produces slightly less power. But in essence its the same engine

Thank you. So the dual ram is a bit like on the Senator. At least it is spared variable valve timing. I am nervous how they would perform on 15 year old cars.

Omega V6 has a three-stage intake system

Senator straight-six has two-stage
