No, it was just the next number in the sequence. The TR5 didn't have a five cylinder engine!

I agree with Nick.  ::)  The TR7 didn't have 7 cylinders either.  ;)

Although there may well have been 6 pot TR6's  :y





They did do a V8 though and I believe they were known as a TR8.  8) :y and the TR6 was a straight 6  ::) ;D as was the TR5.  :-X

Ah, that crappy old three bearing crank and the inlet setup which let the hot exhaust manifold nicely heatsoak the inlet and carbs.

TRue - owned TR2, TR3, TR3A, TR4, TR4A and TR6 - TR5 only real TR I haven't owned - anything after the TR6 is not a proper TR IMO - monocoque and no real go (in the go stakes only excluding TR8 and Grinnals)
