Eden Project
« on: 29 March 2014, 08:11:28 »

I am visiting Cornwall in a couple of weeks and plan to go to the Eden Project.
Anyone been and care to share any comments or advice on the place?

Went ther the first year it was open and was impressed, but plants etc in the 2 smaller bio domes had not started to establish and looked very sparce.

Visited it again last summer and totally blown away by the transformation.Great day out and very very interesting including the free tours of the top platform areas which were incredibly hot and humid.Advise is to wear loose thin clothing as it does get very hot in the larger dome the further up you walk.Take plenty of water with you on your tour of the larger dome as its a tropical jungle.

Decent restarunt selling good quality food sensibly priced and if you fancy an more thrills they have a "buzz wire" across the entire valley which attracted plenty the day we went but as you book a specific time you arent queing and wasting your day.

We thoroughly enjoyed our day there and will return when we visit Cornwall again,as we stayed at Port Issac

Eden is a must if you are in the area, the gift shop and cafes take the wee wee with their pricing tbh, but if you like nature then it's a delight to spend the day :y

4 adults had hot lunch, cold desert and drinks were sub £30...don,t call that pricey compared to many places.

Food was excellent and clean eating area so would gladly pay that and more :)

Worth a visit if you've never been before, but search around before you go for discount vouchers, as it can be pricey at full price.

Wear comfy shoes, as there is a fair amount of walking.

Lots of schoolkids running around, although since I was there, they were planning to open an education centre.  I went probably 7 or 8yrs ago.

Get there early. Traffic into the place was carnage when I went there (years ago, admittedly). Can't remember what time of year that was. :-\

Went to Eden which was interesting especially the rainforest dome but not sure if i'd go again. On the same day took in Lanhydrock which has great gardens and preserved victorian interior/contents.
