Is there a maintenance guide for changing the front ball joint, haynes don't have any pictures in the manual? I assume the part will fit either left or right?

Yes they fit any side, but you wil have to drill the old rivits out and then bolt the new ones in. It takes me about an hour to do one side when the wishbone is out, and that's with new rear bush pressed in and poly to the front

I think you'll find it easier to remove wishbone to drill them out. The rivets seem to be quite hard, so a good drill and good bits needed

Careful use of a small angle grinder is quicker, easier and a whole lot more satisfying  needs a very steady hand though

Did it that way on the first two sets, but now find it quicker with a drill and then just tap the top off and knock the last bit out.

May be soon but at the moment use a hand held plug in drill, but as you say "Horses for courses". Putting in the rear bushes is better with a 10 ton press, one of the best tools i have.
