Worlds worst keyfob
« on: 11 June 2008, 22:02:05 »

Belongs to Lizzie Zoom

Badly soldered before with some surface damage, ripped off copper from the PCB, broken battery holder and some more bad soldering.

Repaired the hoder with some copper wire, traced the board to get a feed for the lock switch to replace the missing board and araldited the new switch in as it was only connected one end.

BUT, used a battery from a toy and - all three work!

Have allways said Martin.  She's flipping useless, does'nt look after anything.

I think her Blue Peter Badge needs removing and passing on to you for skillfully sorting her problems out.    ;D ;D ;D :y :y :y

Thanks Martin you are great!  :-* :-* :-* :y

I inherited that poor example of a key fob with my car back in April, and the AA engineer mucked around with it to get my dead locked, immobilized, car unlocked when both key fobs failed the morning after buying the car! :'(

Thank goodness you know what you are doing!  Many thanks again, and I can't wait to get two fobs up and running! :-* :y

When you refit it be careful of the jumper wire, it goes from a hole to the lock switch and may foul the cover.

I hope to post tomorrow when I send my dad his fathers day card
