Recommended tyres.
« on: 08 April 2014, 20:54:05 »

My car has 4 Pirelli P Zero Rosso? on it & a (new?) Firestone? spare.

What tyres would you recommend I put on it?

My experience is that goodyear f1 assemetric or conti 3 are the best choice.

Conti SC3 (not SC5) seem to be the most widely recommended tyre, expecially if you can get the Mercedes "MO" variant but they are towards the higher cost end of the market.

Some budget tyres work well, but most recommendations on here are for tyres which are now discontinued.

"Avoid Falken" is also sound advice.

But.. different people need their tyres to do different things depending on budget, driving style, etc. so you won't necessarily get the right answer for you.

Oh, and online tyre review sites are a waste of time.

Depends what you want from a tyre.  Some that are definitely worth avoiding are, unless you're on a suicide mission:

Continental SC5
Falken (anything, but esp 912)
Autogrip (anything)

Mid grip, premium, worth considering:
Goodyear F1 Assymetric 2
Continental SC3 (generic)

High grip, premium, worth considering:
Dunlop Sport Maxx TT
Dunlop Sport Maxx RT

These are based on my own personal experiences of tyres on my own Omegas, over the life of the tyre (with the exception of Falkens, which were only on for a couple of miles). Tyres long obsolete are excluded.

My driving style is...   ...I tend to get approx. 10k from a set of tyres.

Was this a recommendation from the place potentially supplying them? If so, ignore the recommendation...
