Buying second hand ncdc 2013
« on: 10 April 2014, 10:41:19 »

If I buy a second hand ncdc 2013 and paired CID do I need the car pass from the doner car to be able to use it?

I believe if they are paired, you will be okay  :y

One thing to check after looking at your other post, iirc the CID uses a slightly different loom with a RGB cable / plug on it  :-\
Might be a idea to check your car first  ;)

As TG says there paired (if) then they will work fine, no need for the Pass, but your be a bit stuffed for any future work needed doing via a Tech 2 without the pass.

If your in the market for a 2013, CID and the Pass to go with it, give me a shout.  ;)

In theory, you do, but as said, if you get your hands on a paired set up and fit it yourself, then no you dont, Vauxhalls will probably tell you different though if you take it to them to be fitted.  ;)

The other thing you need to watch out for, if buying a paired set up without the Pass is like for like for the Car, ie Migs use Bose, non Bose, Auto, Manual, Engine etc,  for the computer Side, other Models ie, Vectra use different Bus protocols.

In other words, without the Pass, it can not be reprogrammed or de paied at a later date.

If *any* part is paired, it must be depaired before pairing it to something else. Thus the pairing code is needed.

The complication comes when you consider the ages of these units, its becoming less and less common for the units to be original to the car, so the carpass from the donor may not be that good.

I can discover the pairing codes on NCDC2013/2015 units, but its a tedious procedure, with a risk of damage to the unit.
