Hi left home yesterday towing a caravan car fine 100 miles down the road pulled in for petrol engine started to judder/misfire  smoke/steam from exhaust, header tank almost empty fluid sprayed over engine compartment :'(. When cold back to normal running. Would be grateful if anyone can help.

Try it with the aircon switched on next time, if it was off...

Are all the fans working as they should?
What was the temperature gauge doing at the time? If normal, might be as simple as a failed expansion tank cap.
If temp went through the roof then I would be looking at the fans/temp switches on the radiator :y

Hi thanks temp was normal wondered if it had anything to do with cylinder head gasket????  hope not. We did not take the chance and were recovered home. Why would it misfire as well????
