So in GrandmaT's back garden she has a PIR light, the bulb blew, so MotherT took it to a light shop in town. Few days later check up, reply is, 'What bulb?'

Said they never had it 

Quite unusual, hence taking it there. For the sparkies on the forum, anyone know the type of bulb for this PIR light? I can't see a model/name on it. Might need to take it off to see that.

Looks like it might take a PAR38 spotlight bulb to me, but might be worth measuring up to see first.

Thanks Kevin, quick Google, I don't think it's that looking at it.

It was quite small I think, did not look like a standard bulb.

That said, could have been that, but most on the ebay search results are screw, I don't remember it being a screw fitting. More like bayonet

Yes glass on the lens, that rotates and comes off. The lens makes the seal

Might be worth paying the extra few quid to buy a replacement LED bulb though and save on the electric bill a little

Ok, then it might be a smaller bulb. I had assumed that the bulb forms the front face of the lamp.

I can see it's an edison screw fitting from here.

If there's a glass face that screws on, as long is it has the right size ES fitting and it fits behind the glass, then job's a good'un. Depending on how the drive electronics is designed, it's possible it'd take exception to an LED or FL low energy bulb.

Humm I took it out myself, did not look like that. It was long and thin. 

Least I think it was, can't remember.    Also replaced bulb in the PIR light out the front which was a 'traditional one.
