Help Please, Alarm fault.
« on: 10 May 2014, 16:24:14 »

Hi All,

Just joined up hoping for some help with my recently resurrected omega. It's a '97 2.5v6 cdx.
Bit of history, car was originally laid up for financial reasons 4yrs ago and past it's MOT last Friday and since then has been used for travel to work. When it was laid up everything worked as it should but I've noticed some problems have developed both during the laid up period and during the last week.
First off was the power sounder wasn't working at all but then there's been no main battery on the car for 4yrs so no surprise there. It's now removed for replacement.
Next, I had to resequence the remote fob 2 or 3 times over the week(new fob battery) then on Thursday it wouldn't double lock, i.e. single flash only no matter how many times fob button pressed. Then yesterday I noticed that the red light on the alarm button wasn't coming on and following experiments it would seem the systems dead. The central locking works apart from the dead locks.
Also the lights left on warning bleeper/buzzer has stopped working, don't know if that's related.

Hope you can help me and I'm sorry for going on.

Thanks,

Simon.

Thanks for the replies,

I thought I'd fixed it or it'd fixed itself as after pulling and replacing fuses 12 and 20 it all came back to life and all was well, but no, it's still not right going from dead to half to fully working. Oh, I've also had the unit out and back in hoping that by unplugging and then plugging it back in it might for some unknown reason decide to work.

How would I go about reprograming it and why?

It has a new old battery out of the drawer in the fob that should be good till 2015, but I'll go and get new one from the shop and see how that goes.

Thanks again,

Simon.
