I have been a mug - Banking thread - rant
« on: 02 June 2014, 14:21:27 »

32 years banking with Lloyds. Went to downgrade my account from Private Premier etc etc to a basic one as I do not need all the services. Ended up just walking out as they said this would not be straight forward and I would have no cards for a time and direct debits may be affected!!

Will move the lot to Santander - including Business Accounts. Everything will migrate across relatively seamlessly. Plus 3% interest on each current account.

What a shower Lloyds are.

Aghh, stay clear of Spanish banks. They charge you handsomely for everything................. but are nice and friendly.

Been talking about Metro bank recently.

Zero cost on transfers abroad, apparently. Although no interest paid. Not sure if they have other accounts for business. Probably.

Exactly the same here, been with Lloyds since 1964 and wanted to change to a basic account from the black card pay a fortune every month for nowt. I got the same response so changed to TSB with 5 per cent interest, easy to switch all done in a week. With it being the same group then the online banking is the same format. :y

A week? :o metro bank opened H's account in half an hour. Card printed on sight, web banking all set up job done before she'd left the premises.

...a WEEK indeed. ::)

I would add I left Lloyd's about 12 years ago. Utter utter shower of useless morons. Had to pay me over £750 in compensation, for pure incompetence.

I have a business account with Lloyds. :(

It took them 7 weeks to open it and even then I didn't have any bank cards.

They are simply hopeless. >:(

They offered me £50 compensation for the trouble they caused. I declined......I went to the ombudsman instead. :y
