Here we go again, we all know Nokia from old, yep they've been around a while and they do make good phones, but having shite'd on about 90% of its Loyal Nokia Lovers a few years back by dumping Symbian and Meego and demanding to its customers its a Window Mobile or nothing, they have now just launched a Range of Android OS Phones.

So what are Nokia, or more to the point Microsoft playing at?, back tracking, and offering a Android OS with Google Play, not quiet, its a Windows 8 style Interface running Android, but no access to the Google Play Apps, instead you can only download the limited Android Apps from the Nokia Store, which by the way  a lot of them Nokia have nicked from Google Play without the App Writers consent!

Any way back to the phone, its a Nokia Window Type looking Phone (Nokia X), with Dual Sim function, I like that idea, about time someone other than China did that, and once you get your hands on one you can Root it to run Proper Android with full access to the Google Play Apps, or Daul Boot for both, assuming you know what your doing of course.

But I must admit, with a Start price of £99 to own a medium spec Android Phone does seem good value to me, whats your thoughts.

I used Nokia for years. They just worked and were familiar. When smartphones came along I used HTC, but they were expensive. Sony then went with Android, so now I have a low end Experia which is absolutely fine for my relatively simple needs, just phone, text, email.

But its the same with many other things. I used buy all my clothes in Marks. Now when you go in they have all these different "brands" spread around the shop. You can't just go to a trousers or jackets section.

Seems to me that a lot of organisations adopt a "if it aint broke, break it" approach.

Dual sim phones are not just chinese clones.

I have been using them for quite a while.

Samsung do a full range of Duos phones that are big in Europe & India but the UK doesn't seem to sell them.

Nokia have been knocking out dual sim phones for 3-4 years

My current arsenal (spare phone draw) consists of, amonst other things, a samsung S3 Duos, GTxxxxxxx duos, a Sony Xperia E dual sim and daily use Xperia Tipo dual sim.

Very handy to have a dual sim phone if you go abroad or don't want to carry two phones but have to (personal and work), as most have dual standby & use you can receive calls on either and to swap between sims is a simple button press :-)

Only thing to be aware of is I don't think any of the dual sim phones are dual 3G, most only do 3G  on one sim, but you can set which sim is used for data and none to date are 4G, but no doubt that will change very soon (if it hasn't already!)

Ive always rated Ericsson Mobiles, Solid, well built and reliable, and was glad to see they didn't wander to much off the beaten track when the merged with Sony. lets just hope Sony have learnt some lessons now they are back on there own again.

I was a proud owner of a SE Satio back in 2009 when they first came out courtesy of Vodafone, brilliant mobile at the time, SE Flagship, 12Mp Cyber Shot Camera, Sony Walkman Player, HSDPA+, Neat Video Player, good quality Screen only really let down by the resistive Touch Screen and lack of C: Memory which made it a big buggy running Symbian if you filled the C: Drive up with Apps rather the use the E: space.

I was shocked when SE decided to dump the Satio within months after its launch, in favour of it new Xperia running Android (probably on reflection a good move at the time) but cant help feeling that if SE had held back the launch of the Satio and the run with Android OS the phone or later variants of it would still be SE Flagship today.

In all fairness to SE and Vodafone I was offered a Free of Charge replacement to an Xperia, if I wasn't happy with the Satio but decided to keep hold of it, still use now and then as a Camera, Sat Nav and a Mobile WiFi Hot Spot.

Thanks for this Zirk. Will be looking into it with interest as I have stuck with Nokia but other family members have now gone Android mainly for compatability with car systems. Nokia Windows is fine with Parrot but not in built systems pre 2012 (for me at least).

As a phone they are great.

TBH, for a cheap android phone I think the moto E or moto g are the winners (depending what your requirements are)

Yep, cant argue with that, Ive heard good things about them from a few people now. EE have also lanched a £99 cheap'y for there 4G Network called the Kestral made by Huanwai or what ever there called, the same mob that have been making most of the Data Dongles for years now.
