Same applies to pretty much anything that is eaten whole, cockles, mussels, clams, oysters, whitebait, even headed prawns unless deveined.

On the subject of prawns . . . . king prawns from Thailand. Some producers pinch their eyes off while they are alive, they breed more or something like that.

Also steam things over beer/lager... proper king prawns are delicious done that way... feeling peckish already
