It amazes me how many people still use a mobile while driving, even though most new cars have built in hands free >:(

Bet the excuses are priceless to :)

Plenty of mobile speed camera vans about too plus VOSA Roadside Checks  :o Eyes in back of head time  :D
I was tailgated in a 40 mph zone by a BMW driver so slowed down and let him pass , only for him to be caught by a hidden fixed speed camera  ;D ;D ;D Serves himself right , love it when that happens  :)

Agreed on both counts.
Re phones ..... it seems that people think it's OK to use them using the phone's external speaker & use it as though they're on that Allan Sugar wanna be thing  ???

Go for it Jason :y

We are constantly being told how driver's are in control of a dangerous weapon. So why does the punishment not fit the crime. I would install a ban for being on the phone, and, also if caught driving whilst a ban in place, you go to jail. I bet most of those caught do not drink and drive because of the threat of a ban. Having that deterrent on offer, I think, would make a big difference.
Yes jails are full, but if a few went inside, with heavy media coverage, then the message would get through.
(Reason for my attitude is nearly losing two family through mobile phone drivers) >:(
In the meantime, Jason, you keep at it bigtime :y

Unrelated to cars but.. I've always wondered why some people will walk down the street having a conversation on a phone like that..

Video call would be the only sane explanation, but does anyone really do that?

Video calls have always been the holy grail, but, in practice, they are about as much use as a chocolate kettle IMHO. ;D

Possible reasons . . . . . .

1. Stupidity. They don't know how to turn off the hands free/loudspeaker

2. Extreme caution. In case mobile phones really do "fry" your brain

3. Wannabeism. If the wannabes on The Apprentice do it, then they wannabe like them

4. Coolism. They actually think it's a cool thing to do and don't realize that it's a dickead thing to do.

Any more . . . .
