Well I have at least temporarily solved part of my dilemma.The Omega will be declared off road,the insurance swapped to the Jag and until such time as Maureen is mobile enough to be gotten in/out of a car[at present it takes 2 people and a stand and turn aid to move her from bed to chair etc.]the Jag will be pressed back into service.That then leaves the ultimate fate of the Omega to be decided and if I get rid of it what then do I finally replace the Jag with when Mo finally is able to make use of one?

If you qualify for disabled tax, can Motorbility help summat like a Zafira with low door openings and a slightly higher seating position and a reasonable boot for chair/walker perhaps?

Yep any motorbility dealer will advise you and let you test drive a vehicle if you are entitled to that benefit all the better

She has been in receipt of the higher rate of DLA for some years.This means that she does indeed qualify for a motability car should she wish it.I far prefer to own my own car and get the free road tax for it,this leaves her to spend the DLA payment on other stuff she needs.However if it comes down to it then we'll have to go see about one,that'd leave me free to run the Jag on all but the occasions when she needs transporting somewhere
