Odd EML.
« on: 07 June 2014, 12:32:48 »

Giving the 3.0 the beans the other day,the EML came on,but not the usual bright steady one that we have all come to love, but glowing and flickering at the same time. I put the scanner on it this morning and got 1 DTC but no code,so I erased it but it's still there. The car seems to be running OK ...just wondering if any one else has had similar so that I can start the elimination process :-\

Could be,but at the time it happened,I was showing a Porche driver what the the old barge was capable of on this stretch of erm ..private motorway ::)...just feel that I might have broken something but no evidence to prove the case.

Fraid so,possibly a developing fault, belts brand new, battery new and charging,no leaks but have just run the car up again and the tickover went lumpy then engine stalled, fired it back up and the revs climbed up to around 900 RPM but settled back on their own.Just wondering wether the exhaust is partly blocked :-\

Sorry for the delay in getting back, been out checking all connections etc, every thing seems OK :-\ confirm that it's engine,no other warnings lit.May be it's the scanner that's not up to it,other than that it's going to be a waiting game to see if some thing is going to fail :-\

Pull the ECU off the battery overnight, whilst its re learning it may pick up the issue quicker.

If the engine eml is glowing I'd guess at a fault in the clocks/behind the dash. Can't think if a situation where the eml would be dimly lit.

Could well be,just seems coincidence that it came on at 1** mph ::)being pushed really hard, battery now disconnected until the morning, will then follow up on your tip if the fault persists and will scan it one more time as well :y

What scanner are you using? A 3.0 is not OBDII   ;)  ;)  ;)
