Sounds like switches are beginning to fail, so change them before you knacker the fob rubbers. Happy to do the soldering, but I can't in our office in MK due to the fire detection, so would have to bring fob home

Resync is ign to II, press on of the buttons several times, car will lock/unlock.

I may be wrong, but I am sure that if you unlock the car with the key the alarm will always go off until you turn the ignition on. It is nothing to do with the key being sync'd, that's the remote buttons that lose the synchronisation after a battery change.
Think there is a way to lock it from the inside that doesn't set the alarm, so it won't go off when you unlock it while you get your buttons fixed.

So just a update after spending what seems hours trying to fix this central locking I did yipee and for those who know me and that I am absolutely useless at this stuff I feel good so it was such a silly mistake on my part but thinking about it it may help others and it was the fob I put in new battery thinking it was correctly sitting in cradle but although it was secure etc the batter was not makng contact the small grey lip instead of being on top was sitting at the side of the battery so not making contact and as I took battery out and pulled lip up and reinserted battery it come back to life so that was that anyway theboy will be in touch to see if you could program my spare key to car ok and thanks to all
