Amazing
« on: 17 June 2014, 12:40:53 »

Amazing what Manufacturers can do these days. Currently driving a spanking new Ford Transit custom long wheel base, which has got to be around twice the  size + weight of my old Expert, yet 640 miles on 80ltrs of fuel :o as against around 500 on Peugeot same size tank. And it's a joy to drive :y

I hired a new'ish long wheel base transit recently and enjoyed it so much that I didn't want to give it back.  :)

I loved my old tranny, one of the early 2.5 NA diesels. Although on a good day, it may only give 20mpg ;D

Credit where it's due... Most sensible thing done to a Transit since Ford stopped making the Mk3/4 with a Cosworth V6 ;D

But.. if you're going to go to the trouble of fitting a V8, why not fit one with V8 power as well as V8 noise? :-X

EDIT: And V8 thirst.

A nice LS/LT swap would be good ..

But lets face it, who wants to stick £5ks worth of engine in £500s worth of Transit? Much more likely to stick £150s worth of RV8 in there instead.. ;D
