Dog Meat
« on: 23 June 2014, 11:17:31 »

Would you eat it?  :-\  Here's an interesting article from CNN about a dog meat festival in Southern China.  :y

http://edition.cnn.com/2014/06/22/world/asia/china-yulin-dog-meat-festival/index.html?hpt=hp_c2

I spent 6 weeks travelling around China in the 1990's and might have eaten it, but not knowingly.  :-\  I also lived in Vietnam for a while where they also eat it, but there it is an expensive delicacy so I didn't have there.  Maybe I should have tried it but wasn't really bothered.  :-\

I think that meat is meat to be honest and as long as the animal has a good and healthy life and is dispatched quickly and humanly then it's fine!  :y

However this is China we're talking about......  ::)  :(  :-\

Probably not as I like dogs as pets. Likewise, although I've tried most French foods, I haven't frogs legs as I like frogs. I've eaten horse meat regularly in France, plucked, gutted and eaten Pheasants, like rabbit, eaten goat (like lamb) and tried kangaroo meat. Given the chance to try new cuisine when I'm travelling, then I do. :y
