washer bottle/pump part No. ?
« on: 29 June 2014, 16:09:35 »

hi all ,

got a leak from the washer bottle behind the bumper  ('53 3.2 elite)

Now bumper & bumper bar are off , I can see it is leaking from around the rubber grommet/seal between the pump & the bottle.

The pump itself does not seem to be a firm fit in the "push in" clamp moulded into the bottle or indeed into the rubber grommet/seal.

The pump looks fairly new , so wondering if it is the wrong one  :-\

part no. on the pump is GM 90 508 707     with Textron 19222 written below that .

can anyone look up the correct part No.   and see  these numbers correspond to the pump that should be fitted .

If so & pump is correct  one ,  it must be the grommet/seal worn  ::)   . .  or wrong rubber seal :D :D

TIA    Al :y

90508709 on the facelift

My mistake Rob . . . :-[ :-[ :-[   just checked & that is what is fitted  90508709 ( I gave wrong No. in original post  :-[)

The pump seems very slack when clipped into position & easily slides up & down . If you gently push downwards on it  . .

the leak stops  . .  as you release the pump rises up slightly & leaks starts again .

it seems pump body is too slim  or the rubber seal/grommet is not tight enough.

Could you possibly find  a part No.  for the grommet ?

Here you go Al. # 90053056 Although a rubber grommet, it`s referred to as the pump to reservoir gasket ???

Grommet incorporates the filter # 90347698

Got a picture Rob ?  as can't see a filter .  Pump pulls out & leaves the black rubber "grommet" in situ. This pulls out from the Bottle/tank  but is just a round rubber grommet. it does have a raised ring which looks like it could be the "seal" to the bottle.
Leak is occuring between  top of grommet & the pump body . Possibly something missing her I think  :-\

EDIT:  just seen your last post  . .  but a pic would still be helpful  ;)

thanks Rob .
looks exactly what is fitted here.  Pump & grommet.   I'll try a new grommet first as the pump pulls easily out of the grommet .

Thanks again for the help & the pics .  :y :y

Could try three turns of tape around the pump body between the seal and the first clip on the bottle...
