Cruise control result
« on: 04 July 2014, 12:07:52 »

After fitting my cruise stalk to my 2.2 cd the other week I kept on forgetting to see if it worked without the need of a trip to the dealers. Today I tried it and it worked clutch switch as well(think these are fitted as standard but I didn't fit one :)) can't wait to get up on a long journey now, heaven for my right foot :)

That was it. If you can operate a screw driver you can fit the stalk :y
You might need to check if you have a clutch switch fitted and may need tech2 to switch on but bizarrely mine was already activated :)

Found out all I need to know through searching on here.

The stalk came out of my pfl omega and fitted straight on :y

5 minutes to swap the indicator switch over (remember to connect cruise plug ;)) - then a Tech2 session :y

I'm surprised on a 2.2 petrol that it was already enabled in the ECU, as I've not come across one that has been before. Wonder if somebody had had it fitted previously and for whatever reason the stalk was replaced (the cruise stalks tend to go faulty, causing full beam to flash under braking)?

Either way, happy days :y

The facility is disabled in the DBW engine ECUs (no separate cruise unit in DBW cruise setups, the engine ECU maintains cruise by adjusting the butterflies itself, generally more refined than the non-DBW units that tug on the throttle cable)
