Opie Oils - Oil Service Pack Look Up HERE
« on: 08 July 2014, 16:21:53 »

Good news,

Opie Oils now offer an online oil recommendation tool for standard cars where you can find the correct Engine Oil & Filter Service Kits, Engine Oil only service kits and 1 litre Engine Oil Top Up Kits for your car.

Please note If you've got a vehicle with significant performance modifications, you may need a different oil; please get a custom engine oil recommendation from our team instead.

For nearly 10 years Opie Oils have been offering oil recommendations and advice on over 1,000 forums and we have now applied our invaluable knowledge to our online recommendation tool. Unlike the majority of our competitors our lookup tool gives a recommendation that provides you with the correct specification oil and amount for a full change plus an option for OEM quality oil filter too!

There are three types of look up you can select:

- Car Service Kit - Engine Oil & Filter

We match our service kit engine oil with manufacturer specifications and fill volumes, and our OEM quality oil filters with an extensive fitment database to ensure you get exactly what you need to service your vehicle. Service kits may sometimes have a little more oil than the fill quantity – ideal for topping up. Comes with a free disposable filling kit with disposable funnel and gloves, dipstick wipe and hand wipe.

- Car Engine Oil (Without OEM Oil Filter)

If you're looking for the correct specification and amount of engine oil for servicing your vehicle but already have the oil filter then this is for you. These recommendations sometimes have a little more oil than the fill quantity which is ideal for topping up. Again this option comes with a disposable filling kit with disposable funnel and gloves, dipstick wipe and hand wipe.

- Car Top Up Kit - 1 Litre of Engine Oil

Just need a 1 litre top up? Then use this option to get the correct viscosity and specification. With the addition of our disposable top up kit it makes topping up a quick and easy job.

To get your recommendation it's simple. Select the type of look up you require and then enter your vehicle information. You will then be presented with the correct products for your car with prices and option to add to basket.

In the future we plan on adding additional products to our lookup tool, this includes spark & glow plugs, break parts, wiper blades and much, much more! We will keep you all updated....

Cheers

Hmmm... serviced mine yesterday with GM 5w30 full fat at £2.50 per litre and a genuine spin on filter for less than £2

The whole lot including genuine oil, filters, plugs, oil flush and lifter treatment was less than £60

Looking at their prices Opie won't be selling much ::)

http://www.opieoils.co.uk/p-63585-ngk-spark-plug-bkr6equp-ngk-3199.aspx

Plugs £67
Oil and filter "service pack" £26-£85
Air filter £12
Fuel filter £9
Pollen filter £16

So Opie costs £134-193,

Genuine costs £60. Granted I cheated slightly... I bought in bulk... 10 oil filters, 20litres of oil, 3 boxes of plugs etc so retail for the genuine bits is probably nearer £80...

But it does show how you should shop around, rather than buying into force fed advertising  ::)

Not another bloody oilman ad - getting closer to spamming >:(

Yep, and we never did get an admin reaction over the oilman's previous thread:

http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/index.php?topic=124316.0

I wonder why?  Oilman as I stated before has not even 250 posts, and yet is allowed to advertise on a commercial basis.  Is he paying the admins commission to help with the running costs of the Forum?  If so, why not get Vauxhall to sponsor the site and advertise?  They, or another big commercial concern would make it worth the admins while!!

So, come on TB, fess up, what is the score? :D :D :D :D :y

...or does the 250 post rule only apply to selling cars?

I hope he does Opti, as where else could a commercial concern get such focused advertising! :D :D ;)

That is on the cheap it would seem! :P :P

Joking aside, if this advertising is approved by the admins, then why are these not entered into the "Recommended Suppliers" section? :)

The "General Chat" section seems to me to be the wrong section anyway for these adverts..
