Me too, was my first foray into the dark world of Vx ownership

I have to admit to test driving a 2.0 auto estate in the days before I bought my first 'proper' Omega .......a white 3.2 plod estate.

Driven quite a few of them and they are all slugs, that's why I went for one that delivered the most economy with the most toys.

Far to much weight to go round corners properly or accelerate with any gusto but they are a lot of car for the money and a well set up one still drives nice given the age of the design.

Next will be an 3.0tdi A8 for me once this one gets more aggro than its worth.

It will be cheaper, and less stressful to keep the Omega going than to replace it with an A8, especially one with that arse backwards chain driven timing gear

We'll wait and see on that one.

Not found a car yet that does not have its issues and I do like the A8's just not the mpg of the petrol's.

I also like the Chrysler 300 diesel
