Oh dear i can strike a few off that list  ::) :-[ :-[ Where's my coat and cup of tea  :(
#

Too much tea drinking on this forum......and not enough shagging. ;) :P

That's why i'm not around much recently  ;D ;D ;D
The missus accused me of neglecting here  ::)
As you can tell, i'm off and she is at work  ;)

Anyway, about cheap sporty cars

If you can handle front wheel drive, you could do a hell of a lot worse then a VW Corrado if you can find one that hasn't been hammered / chaved up too much  :y

With the 2.9 V6 up front a great little car.  :y

Far better than the dumpy looking Golf with the same engine.

Yup, 160 bhp out of the box.

Stick a 68mm pulley and a chip and 190 - 200 bhp is there for the taking  :D
Tickle it a little more and replace the gearbox with a VAG one off iirc a diesel golf and you have a seriously quick little car which with the longer ratios of the box is not bad on fuel either   :)

A unmolested one will set you back 4 grand and the values are going up  :y

Tbh, the reason i'm not converting my mv6 to a manual is because I quite fancy one as a weekend / summer play thing  :D :D

MGC anyone?

I seem to recall the MGC being described as a sports car with a tractor engine crammed into it  ;D

Yonks ago I had an Austin Westminster, it had the same engine as the MGC but the Westminster was a huge car. First car I ever did a ton in  :-X. oops I mean could have done a ton in.

A major part of my interest in one . . . I think a reason for cheapness is spares, and ulginess  ;D But I still fancy one  ::)

How about a genuine AC Cobra 427 from the sixties?

It could be pricey, boys. ;)

Friend of mine picked up a good condition example with reasonable miles for £2k not so long ago - it's his track toy but so far has been refined, reliable and .. ok, far from economical ;D

They're a good buy if you can find one without apex seal issues.
